Hayleys Plantations Implements Stringent Measures to Protect Estate Workers from COVID-19

Keeping in strict adherence to the guidelines set by health officials in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the plantations sector of Hayleys Group took several initiatives to ensure that the employees’ needs were met during this difficult time. Further, strict health and safety regulations were implemented that are to be followed in the field, factories and estate premises.

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the globe, Hayleys Group stepped up its efforts to help Sri Lanka combat the virus. Haycarb PLC, Dipped Products PLC (DPL) and Eco Solutions – subsidiaries of Hayleys Group – donated urgently required medican and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth Rs. 10.6 million, towards the expansion of the Intensive Care Unit which remains the central facility used to treat COVID-19 patients in Sri Lanka at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH).

Haycarb PLC, a multinational company under the Hayleys PLC umbrella, released their financial statement on their earnings for the nine months ending 31 December 2019. They recorded a revenue of LKR 17.6 billion with LKR 1,578 million as profit before tax (PBT) while profit after tax stood at Rs. 1,275 million.
