Comprehensive publication indexes 850+ industry-specific terms
to empower local knowledge base
The launch of ‘BPO and Sourcing Dictionary’ – a comprehensive Handbook geared towards Sri Lanka’s outsourcing industry, was held on 26 April at the Dialog Auditorium.
Ajith Dandeniya is the author of the Handbook – a singular publication carrying over 850 industry-relevant definitions and filling a veritable gap in the market. An IT and BPO Professional, he currently holds the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Hayleys Group.
Sri Lanka’s objective to become the world’s preferred outsourcing destination is slowly but surely seeing results through proactive steps taken by private and public entities alike. With this Handbook, researchers, professionals and others within the IT and BPO industries are empowered with a substantial knowledge base, Dandeniya stated.
“One of the key objectives Sri Lanka has in front of it is to build up the Human Resource Capability to take on BPO related work, through Capacity Building Programmes. It is my wish that the Handbook is used parallel to this drive, for those who are within or looking to enter the industry to avail themselves of this knowledge base,” Dandeniya disclosed.
Earlier this year, Hayleys Business Solutions International (HBSI) embarked upon a clear thrust in the Sector. In February, HBSI received ISO 27001 certification for Information Security Management, and a month later, became Sri Lanka’s first and only CarbonNeutral® BPO Company.
Set up as a shared services operation offering services to the diverse industry needs of the Hayleys conglomerate, Hayleys Business Solutions now offers BPO services to onshore and offshore third party clients. HBSI’s subsidiary Haydea is geared to source BPO service contracts from UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. For more information about Haydea, visit www.haydea.com.
