Film (Fujifilm), the global leader in digital minilabs for the
photo imaging industry, has announced the formation of a global
alliance with digital minilab manufacturer Noritsu Koki, as part
of its efforts to expand the demand for retail printing by
enhancing the range of services available.
The initial engagement between the two companies will be a
global collaboration for the development of digital minilab
products and after sales services, Fujifilm's sole
representative in Sri Lanka Hayleys Consumer Products Limited (HCPL)
said.
Rizvi Zaheed, the Managing Director of Hayleys Consumer Products
said: "Fujifilm, which is the recognised global leader in the
international digital photo imaging market, is also the
undisputed market leader in Sri Lanka's photo printing industry.
This collaboration between these two giants will help to provide
a wider value proposition for our customers while bringing
benefits to the industry." Under the agreement between the two
companies, Fujifilm will license Noritsu Koki to utilize
Fujifilm's advanced technology for digital minilabs which
Noritsu Koki will combine with its own production techniques to
manufacture digital minilabs capable of producing higher quality
prints.
The two companies will also cooperate in the field of after
sales services for the digital minilabs of both companies by
providing consistent and reliable after sales services for users
of digital minilabs which are currently being used in retail
printing.
Fujifilm and Noritsu Koki will also provide a variety of
solutions in the world of imaging, which is expected to show
enhanced growth in the future. In addition the companies will
contribute to the further development of the culture of
photography by fusing and evolving technologies in the field of
photofinishing focusing mainly on digital minilabs. In addition
to the combined products, Fuji Photo Film Ltd., will continue to
concentrate on their own line of Frontier digital minilabs to
the market. Currently Frontier 500, Frontier 550, Frontier 570
and Frontier 590 models are available for the customers to
choose based on their requirement.
Hayleys Consumer representing Fujifilm as the sole distributor
in Sri Lanka since 1995, is the leader in the Sri Lankan photo
imaging industry. The company has installed 72 Fujifilm Frontier
Digital Minilabs to date claiming a market share of 73 per cent
in this sector.
To date Fujifilm alone has sold over 35,000 Frontier Digital
Minilabs worldwide. |
