Hayleys Consumer Products Ltd has to date installed
63 other digital minilabs around the country giving the
company a 75 per cent share of the digital minilab
market.
A state-of-the-art Fujifilm Frontier 570 digital minilab
has been installed in Vavuniya by Hayleys Consumer
Products Limited (HCPL) offering residents in this
district the latest digital photo processing technology.
With the
acquisition of the new machine, the Austriya Photo and
Digital Colour Lab at No. 236, Kandy Road, Vavuniya has
become the first operator of a digital minilab in the
area and the first operator of a Frontier 570 digital
minilab in the Northern Province, the company said.
This
machine, the 63rd Fujifilm Frontier digital minilab in
Sri Lanka, enables processing outlets to print high
quality images of up to 12x18 inches and output up to
1800 4R-sized prints per hour. A new digital imaging
controller equips the 570 to print almost the same
number of prints from digital sources as from film,
contributing to an improvement in productivity.
The Frontier 570 also delivers the highest image quality
ever from a Frontier series minilab, with advanced image
advancement and improved print resolution.
The Managing Director of HCPL Rizvi Zaheed said:
"Digital minilabs are rapidly replacing the analogue
labs of the past. Since the introduction of the Frontier
570 model to Sri Lanka in March this year, we have
installed nine of these latest models around the country
reinforcing Fujifilm's position as the technology leader
in digital processing and printing in the country."
S. Sivajeevan, the Director of the Austriya Photo &
Digital Colour Lab said the main reason he chose a
Frontier 570 machine was its user friendly operating
system, capability of printing high quality prints to
satisfy professionals and the superb after sales service
provided by Hayleys.
Consumer
Products Ltd to their FDI customers. "The fact that the
Fujifilm Frontier is the machine available at most of
the photo finishing outlets was also a factor," he said.
The sole
agent in Sri Lanka for Fujifilm, Hayleys Consumer
Products Ltd has to date installed 63 other digital
minilabs around the country giving the company a 75 per
cent share of the digital minilab market. Worldwide,
Fujifilm has a 65% per cent market share in the digital
photo processing market, accounting for over 35000
digital minilabs in operation as at end August 2005.
